Dealing with Cold/Flu

Millions of people suffer each year from the effects of the common cold and flu. You can help guard and protect yourself and your family from the economic and painful effects of this year's flu season. A few hints can mean the difference between a healthy or miserable fall season.

Know Your Enemy:

* The common cold can last a few days or a couple of weeks

* There is NO CURE for the common cold, but there is prevention and effective treatment

* The common cold is a viral infection found in the respiratory system, i.e. nose, throat and lungs

* The cold virus is spread through air by exhalation droplets (small drops of moisture expelled from the mouth by breathing, coughing, and sneezing), or by touching items that have been coughed, breathed, or sneezed on.

Reduce Your Risks:

* Wash your hands frequently

* Cover you mouth when you cough or sneeze and DON'T stay around those who won't

* Get a good nights sleep each and every night

* Eat light healthy meals and DON'T skip meals

* Use clean tissue when cleaning eyes or nose

Start and follow faithfully a good nutritional program, to boost the body's immune system, especially in the anti-viral area.
