Gonzo-Guide Dog

My master, Thomas Ingebretson, has Age-Related Macular Degeneration. It is a disease that affects the central vision in older adults. He was diagnosed legally blind after retiring in 1992.

Gonzo is a 5-1/2 year old yellow Labrador. Gonzo was trained through Guide Dogs for the Blind in Boring, Oregon and this is where Thom and Gonzo became partners and graduated in May 1998 and now live in Modesto, Ca.

Shortly after Gonzo began his working days, his back legs began to quiver regardless of when or where. He would quiver when sleeping at airports, church and meetings, whenever he napped he had the quiver. He was scratching more than usual as well as licking his feet profusely. Also, Gonzo seems to shed more than a Lab usually does. We took him to two veterinarians and with no results.

We had known Kathy Flood at Nutritional Support Programs for a number of years and preferred her holistic approach to healing. Kathy examined Gonzo and determined allergies, stress, lack of calcium and dog food were major problems. Gonzo was immediately put on a program suggested by Kathy and within a couple of weeks showed much progress. Gonzo was also given a product for his excessive shedding, which has helped tremendously.

Now, he's a healthy, well-adjusted, very affectionate source of joy for our family and a reliable companion for Thom. Kathy has tremendous knowledge in treating not only people but also animals. We credit Gonzo's turnaround to the warmth, knowledge and concern Kathy has given Gonzo.

We will continue recommending Kathy for whatever problem you or your animal may have. Kathy cared, our vet didn't.
